Which still shows a complete 1TB (931GB in binary) even though one of the large files on it is the 60GB fixed-size VHD. (We have some tablets with 32GB SSDs and Windows 8.1, and the space is rather tight. Windows 8.1 disk manager update#You probably have some Windows Update files cached and other things you can get rid of, probably amounting to a decent number of GB. I will pass on one idea to clear space on the C drive: In File Explorer, right-click the C drive, then Properties, then Disk Cleanup, and set it to look at System files after the first scan (Google all this). Regrettably, this isn't a Virtualbox-supportable question. In any event, if there really is a single disk, and it was really split off to appear as two disks, this arrangement wasn't necessary to put a Virtualbox guest on the PC and whoever did it will have to undo it, or you'll have to ask on a Windows forum or a local PC repair person if you actually find only one disk inside. ![]() If this was originally a single disk, then the original disk size would have been sold as 532GB. 500GB measured in 1000's calculates back to 465GB in binary, and a 32GB disk measures back to ~30GB, which numbers fit what your total disk spaces show in the Disk Management. FWIW, disk manufacturers measure their disks by the base-10 1000's, not the binary 1024's as a computer shows. ![]() I have never seen a Disk Management look like that and not be two disks, nor can I think of any way for a large partition on one disk to be split off and appear as another disk (although there may be a way). Your Disk Management is extremely typical of having two physical disks in the PC: a 32 GB disk (shows as about 30GB, probably an SSD) and a 500GB disk (shows as 465GB typically). Thanks for the screenshot! I think you're going to have to crack open the case and see what's physically inside. ![]()

![]() ![]() * Dec 14, 2017: Fixed minor diameter calculation. There is also tubeFaces() which omits the end-caps, to be used for closed knots and the like. For a demo of how extrusionFaces() can be used to do that, see twisty.scad. It generates a set of triangular faces that can be fed into the faces= argument of polyhedron() for a tube-like non-self-intersecting extrusion with two end-caps and constant number of points on each cross-section. The extrusionFaces(pointsPerSection, numSections) function is useful for more general extrusions than threads. If for some reason you want access to the points/faces of the thread polyhedron, these are available from the threadPoints() and extrusionFaces() functions. I haven't tested the UTS stuff yet.įor left-handed-thread, just mirror things. If you want to use UTS measurements, you can omit pitch and instead do tpi=TPI, and then use hInch, dInch and leadInch instead of the metric versions. Heres a simple example: This Python code: from solid import d difference () ( cube ( 10 ), sphere ( 15 ) ) print ( scadrender ( d. It generates valid OpenSCAD code from Python code with minimal overhead. In such cases, it is helpful to measure and remodel these. SolidPython is a generalization of Phillip Tiefenbachers openscad module, found on Thingiverse. RawThread(profile, d=diameter, h=height): draw thread with specified profile if lead is omitted, it is calculated from the profile In the context of 3D printing, these are often motors, ball bearings, screws or nuts, for example. This is my humble take on a screw library to be used in your OpenSCAD scripts. You can specify a counterclockwise polygon of 2D points for the profile or you can use ISO thread profiles. The models were repaired and checked for printability. It's designed to be fairly fast: it generates the whole thread polyhedron as a single piece. This is yet another OpenSCAD thread library, and it was more fun to write it than to find a library that did exactly what I wanted. ![]() |
